The owner is amazing. He has collected an eclectic group of books and is highly knowledgeable about them. Very happy with my purchases and I will certainly be back. This shop puts a lot of effort into organizing and recommending their selection. Little notes on many of their books draw your eye. And they’re all handwritten! The time they spend to write all those recommendation notes! If you’re looking for something from a past era, this is the place. They have definitely put the time into curating a historical collection. Staff is incredibly friendly, especially to kids. We enjoyed our visit.

Beautiful collection of books for book worms of all ages. Personally, I enjoy Art books and I was very fortunate to find a gorgeous detailed book of a beloved tradition of my culture. Most books have a notecard with a hand written description of the book. The librarians take their time answering any questions you may have and the tender care they give each book is evident in each page. This bookstore feels exactly like out of a book. I felt so much joy exploring the collections here. I will definitely be back and recommend to my bookish friends.

I’ve been here twice and both times have been a pleasant experience. It’s always nice to purchase from readers that have taken time to curate a special collection of books. The overall experience is better when you know that they are familiar with the books they sell, have likely read many of them and can tell you more about the books/authors.

Hidden gem in Houston Wow!!!! I loved this bookstore. It gave me beauty and the beast library vibes. A wide variety of books for collectibles, signed, sci-fi, history, self help and much more. Mr. Larry is amazing and patient. I went in to ask if his store buys books. He took the time to educate on what books they purchase and why. Even came out to my car to look at the books I did bring and made recommendations. Mr Larry and his bookstore are treasures in the Shepherd area. Thank you Mr. Larry for your time. I will be back.
